Facebook is definitely better. There's less spam, and fakers. I had a MySpace for over a year. One day I decided to make a Facebook and I haven't been on my MySpace since.

On Facebook, you don't get random people sending you friend requests or people hacking into your profile. Its also alot easier to find friends from school and in your area. There's also a lot of cool features on Facebook that MySpace doesn't have.

This is what I heard...

That facebook was started just for academia,college students,educational affiliations etc. Then it morphed into having to join by affiliation- a "group" but not neccesarily academics.

Now, any one can be on face book, and you don't need to be affiliated with anything at all.

Facebook is safer because no one can randomly look at your profile without you accepting themj which is good like my space i always get weirdos asking me to add them i have now deleted it and i am sticking to Facebook i find alot of my school friends are on their 2 which is good

Facebook is safer if you make it private. There is a limited profile option so if someone friend requests you, but you are not sure you know them, you can put them on the limited page. If you want you can also make it so someone cant search your name.
