What are your MySpace views?

With all the ridiculous media attention being given to MySpace right now, what is your take on it? I have been a member since November 2005 and I love it! I have run into so many people on there that I haven't spoken to in 7+ years. I do think that the younger people shouldn't be on there because there are some sick freaks out there, but come on now! They're going overboard with it. Creeps have been trolling chat rooms and other things online to find victims and MySpace is no different.

I think MySpace is what you put into it.

I have an account, which I mostly don't use, but it helps me keep in contact with a few folks (most of my peeps keep in touch by email or IM).

My daughter and my neice both have accounts, and they're totally responsible.

My nephew has an account, and his page scares the crap out of me. Mostly because it clearly indicates that his parents (I love them dearly) are not paying attention to what's going on in his life.

Really, though, the little 14-year old girls who post pics of themselves virtually nude need to have their accounts revoked. Yes, there are predators out there, and they'll find "prey" just about anywhere...Unfortunately, so many on MySpace seem to be inviting them in. Also, it's very clear to me that the parents of these kids need to be more involved. Shame on them for not knowing that their kids have this stuff out there for everyone to see (and yes, I blame the parents in this situation...the kids are just kids, and don't fully understand the impact of their decisions)!

It's crap. It's teen angst network. Just a forum used as a teen dating network.

Myspace is a cool site, but at school almost everbody is on it at the computer labs. It's tough when you want to do your report and over half the people are on myspace. I think that the school should put a block on myspace, and those people who want to go to that site can do it somewhere else.

First, thank you for your response to my question about "shady realtionships". I think myspace.com is like any other site on the internet, it has just been getting coverage more than others. Chat room, etc are places where predators do their dirt also.
